Edwin Koopmans is a finance executive with a broad international career spanning Treasury, Corporate Finance, Investment Management, and Pensions. He is currently Head of Treasury at Lufthansa in Frankfurt. Prior to this, he held senior roles including Head of Treasury at Zalando, Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at Evraz N.A., U.S. Head of Investment Program Management at Aon Hewitt, and Director of Treasury at Sara Lee. 

Throughout these positions, international pension-related responsibilities have been a consistent part of his portfolio, reflecting his deep expertise in the area. Edwin was responsible for the implementation of Sara Lee's Pension LDI strategy in 2009, one of the first LDI strategies in the US. In 2010 his team won an award for the most innovative Pension strategy for UK Pension plans. In 2011 he joined AON Hewitt where he was leading the US consulting team for outsourced pension plans. In his current role at Lufthansa, managing its approx. €14bln Pension liability are part of his area of responsibilities. 

Edwin has worked in major financial hubs such as Amsterdam, Chicago, London, and Frankfurt.
