Jean-Claude Trichet, Former President of the European Central Bank, is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bruegel Institute (Brussels) and Chairman of Trilateral Commission for Europe. He is a member of the « Institut de France » (Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques). He is Honorary Chairman of the Group of Thirty (Washington).
Jean-Claude Trichet was President of the European Central Bank (2003-2011) and President of the European Systemic Risk Board (2010-2011). He was Governor of Banque de France (1993-2003) and Under-Secretary of the French Treasury (1987-1993). He was named „Person of the Year“ by the Financial Times in 2007. He was awarded the “Charlemagne Prize” of Aachen in 2011 for his contribution to European unity.
